The project will improve a half-mile section of Route 268 from a point east of the intersection with Route 38 in Emlenton Borough to the Venango-Butler county line in Scrubgrass Township.
Work will include milling and resurfacing along with updated drainage, guiderails, pavement markings and paved road shoulders.
The project is expected to begin the week of Aug. 1 and is scheduled for completion on Sept. 21.
The contractor is IA Construction Co. of Franklin. The contract cost is $502,137.77, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
This project is made possible by Act 89, Pennsylvania’s transportation funding plan.
No detours are anticipated, but motorists will encounter traffic lane restrictions controlled by flaggers.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and pay attention to signs and flaggers.
