Work scheduled on three routes in Venango Co.

From staff reports

PennDOT is planning repairs to roads in Oil City, Cornplanter Township and Pinegrove Township.

The $1.1 million improvement project is scheduled to begin next week.

The project will include:

– Route 157 from the Cranberry-Pinegrove Township border to the intersection at Coal Hill in Pinegrove Township

– Center and Plummer streets and Grandview Road in Oil City and Cornplanter Township from the intersection with Elm Street in Oil City to the intersection with Hillcrest Avenue in Cornplanter Township.

– Spring, Graff and Stout streets and Harriott and East Bissell avenues in Oil City from the intersection with Center Street to the intersection with Carroll Avenue.

The contractor is IA Construction Corp. of Franklin. The contract cost is $1,121,767.67, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.

Work is expected to begin Monday on the Route 157 portion of the project, then crews will head to Oil City when those improvements are finished.

The work will include milling and paving, base repair, curb ramps, and pavement markings.

Work on all three routes is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 22.

No detours are anticipated, but motorists will encounter lane restrictions controlled by flaggers, PennDOT said.
