Around two dozen women and children attended a free self-defense training at Oil Region Venango Campus, led by Westover Protection and the Venango County Sheriff’s Office. The session included hands-on techniques, personal safety tips for bike trails, and a presentation on human trafficking by Julia Allman of Freedom NWPA, who highlighted its hidden but prevalent nature in the area. Participants learned about trafficking-related exploitation and were encouraged to report suspicions. The event also covered trail safety and practical defense strategies, with support from local organizations, aiming to empower attendees with awareness and protection skills.
