A Franklin woman is facing charges after drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in close proximity to an infant.
Sugarcreek police said in a criminal complaint they were called Tuesday to the Front Street residence in Sugarcreek Borough of Bethany Anderson, 22, to assist probation and parole agents.
Police searched the house with a K9 and found methamphetamine in multiple locations, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the complaint said.
Anderson’s two-month-old baby was exposed to the smoke from methamphetamine and marijuana, and pipes containing methamphetamine and marijuana were found near the infant in an upstairs bedroom, the complaint said. The complaint also said Anderson allowed multiple other people into another upstairs bedroom who were also smoking methamphetamine and marijuana.
Black mold was also found on items in the basement and the house was noted to be “in poor hygiene,” the complaint said.
Anderson has been charged with a felony count of endangering the welfare of children as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana- small amount personal use and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was arraigned Friday and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Central Court.
