From staff reports

An Oil City woman is facing charges after she was found in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop Friday in Oil City.

Oil City police said in a criminal complaint they conducted the stop in the area of West Second Street and Central Avenue of a vehicle with an expired registration that was operated by Shyanne Scott, 29.

Scott told police she had warrants and a suspended driver’s license, and after verifying this was the case, police took her into custody, the complaint said.

A suboxone strip and syringe were located in Scott’s purse, the complaint said.

When police searched the car Scott was driving, they found a baggie of suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana and four bricks and a stamp baggie of suspected fentanyl as well as a bag of needles and other drug paraphernalia, the complaint said.

Scott was charged with two felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, and four summary driving violations.

She was arraigned Monday and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail, and her preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 2 in Central Court.
