Breontai Gates, a 30-year-old woman from Oil City, is facing multiple charges after allegedly resisting arrest during a disturbance at a duplex on Crawford Street. According to police, Gates began screaming upon their arrival and refused to stop when instructed, saying she didn’t care if they arrested her. When officers attempted to arrest her, Gates resisted, leading to a struggle in which both officers fell, and one hit his head. After repeated warnings, one officer used a taser to subdue Gates, and she was taken into custody. Gates has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. She is being held in Venango County jail, with her preliminary hearing set for October 16.
