A Reno woman is facing charges in connection with an assault incident involving her son, who is wanted by Franklin state police.
Police said that around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, 53-year-old Rebecca Berry met with a 33-year-old Seneca woman at the woman’s apartment on Route 257.
Rebecca Berry recorded their conversation with her cell phone without the other woman’s knowledge. The conversation was in regards to Rebecca Berry’s son, Travis Berry, 32, of Reno, who allegedly assaulted the 33-year-old woman Thursday in the parking lot of her place of employment in Cranberry, police said.
The woman told police she had found out Travis Berry had been cheating on her, and he found out that she knew of the indiscretion, police said.
Travis Berry had yanked the woman by her hair and threatened to harm her dog, police said.
The woman said she asked Travis Berry to go to her apartment and called both her sister and friend to meet there, police said.
The two other women met Travis Berry at the apartment, where he choked one of them and body slammed the other, police said.
Rebecca Berry is facing felony counts of intercepting communications and criminal use of communication facility, in addition to misdemeanor counts of possession of an instrument of crime with intent and intimidate witness/victim.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday in Central Court.
Travis Berry is facing a misdemeanor count of strangulation, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and two misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person. He is also facing three summary counts of harassment.
