Kayla Sue Yusko was arraigned late Thursday afternoon before district judge Matthew Kirtland. Police say she seriously injured the man in the attack early Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Eagle Street.
A criminal complaint filed by Franklin police Lt. Kurt R. Gindhart says Yusko stabbed the approximately 40-year-old man twice before fleeing the scene.
Gindhart said he arrived at the residence about a minute after police had received the call to find numerous people at the scene, including the victim. Yusko had already fled from the area on foot when police arrived, the complaint said.
Yusko stabbed the man twice with a blue and black 4-inch Force Speedster folding knife, the complaint said. The man was stabbed once in the lower left abdomen and then again in his right shoulder by Yusko, and Gindhart described his injuries as life-threatening.
Gindhart administered medical treatment until EMS units arrived to transport him. He was taken by Community Ambulance Service to Venango Regional Airport where a Stat MedEvac helicopter was waiting to take the man to UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Police said a warrant was issued Thursday for Yusko but she turned herself in Thursday afternoon.
She has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and single misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment, simple assault and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday in Venango County Central Court.
