Wilber, Borland inducted into Conservation Hall

Jude Wilber and James Borland were inducted into the Venango County Conservation Hall of Fame for their contributions to conservation and environmental awareness. Wilber, a Franklin High School graduate, is a geologist, oceanographer, and environmental advocate with extensive research on ocean plastics, sediment movements, and Caribbean ecosystems. He also taught and mentored students as a chief scientist with the Sea Education Association and participated in community farming and environmental activism in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Borland, a prominent historical figure in Franklin, was the longtime editor of the *Franklin News-Herald* and an enthusiastic birder. He advocated for nature through his writing, producing a nature column and three books. Their inductions honor their lasting impacts on conservation through both scientific research and journalism.
