From staff reports
West Forest Elementary officials have canceled school today, due to ongoing repairs of the school’s boilers.
West Forest students grades 7 to 12 will report to West Forest before being transported to East Forest. Students will be transported back to West Forest at the end of the day.
The boilers were initially thought to be repaired Tuesday after two regulators were replaced. However, an odor that could not be identified was reported and the boilers were shut down for the remainder of the day.
Superintendent Amanda Hetrick reported Tuesday night that the school had tested negative for both carbon monoxide and natural gas but that the boilers would need to be fixed before students could return to their normal schedule.
