Fourteen Venango Technology Center students brought back medals last week from the District 10 Skills USA Competition in New Castle.
The center took a total of 29 students to competition that encompasses schools from Erie, Crawford, Mercer Lawrence Butler, Venango, Warren, Forest, Clarion, Armstrong and McKean counties.
Students earning gold medals in their categories were Anthony Seitz of Franklin in information technology service, Sarah Wagner of East Forest in technical computer applications, Katelynn Kostenbauder of Titusville in customer service and Ben Knecht of Oil City in architectural drafting.
The students who earned gold medals advance to the state competition in Hershey in April.
Students earning silver medals included Brooke Rocco of Rocky Grove in restaurant service, Trae Tudor of Titusville in CNC technician, Tyler Barker of Oil City in welding and Justin Miller of Oil City in electronics.
Bronze medal earners were Steven Carpenter of Franklin in criminal justice, Justis Docherty of Franklin in industrial motor control, Ember Hockman of Cranberry in nail care, Miranda Seeley of Titusville in nail care, Ethan Johnson of Titusville in precision machining and Tyler DeLong of Franklin in firefighting.
