Venango United Way launching campaign

From staff reports

The United Way of Venango County will officially launch its annual fall campaign Tuesday.

The agency is kicking off the campaign with a month-long virtual Act of Kindness Promotion.

United Way is asking everyone in Venango County to perform random acts of kindness; whether it is holding a door for someone or helping out at a local food bank.

The agency then wants people to take a picture of themselves or someone else they see performing an act of kindness and send it to one of United Way’s social media pages to be featured throughout the month.

“Although this isn’t a normal kickoff, it doesn’t mean the United Way isn’t moving forward. We’re making the best of a bad situation,” Will Price, executive director of Venango County United Way, said.

“We have a campaign in the middle of a pandemic, but people of Venango County have always come together in times of a crisis,” Price added.

United Way of Venango County funds 32 community programs throughout 16 community partners.

This year’s fall campaign is chaired by Erin Hanna, branch manager of First National Bank.
