Community members may sign up with Venango Area Community Gardens to request a raised bed for the summer for the use of their neighborhood, church, nonprofit or other community group.
The 4-by-4-foot beds are made by students from Venango Technology Center Natural Resources class, who manage the vo-tech greenhouses. The beds also are provided with soil.
Raised beds with soil will be provided, and plants and compost are also available, but it is up to the person or groups renting the garden to maintain it, including planting and weeding.
To sign up for one of the garden beds, visit the community gardens’ Facebook page.
