The Venango County Fair starts today, and animals and their handlers will be settling into their stalls, pens and campers.
The fair will feature daily showings from 4-H youth as well as musical entertainment, a petting zoo, demonstrations and competitions from garden tractor pulls to demolition derbies.
The fair runs through Saturday, Aug. 10, and all entries will be released Sunday, Aug. 11.
Here is the weekend schedule at the fair:
Today
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Team roping presented by SL Productions at the Kiwanis Bowl.
12:30 and 2:30 p.m. – Master Magician Chuck Caputo at the Scrubgrass Stage.
1 p.m. – Mega Truck and DOT Mud Fest at the Mud Track
5 p.m. – Grand opening ceremony for the new playground
6:30 p.m. – Garden tractor pulls in memory of Brian “Bubba” Seely at the main stage/pulling track.
The Bear Hollow wood carving show and Bar C Ranch petting zoo will be held throughout the day.
Sunday
10 a.m. – Worship Service by the SLIM Brothers at the Log Cabin
12 p.m. – Mega Truck and DOT Mud Fest at the Mud Track
12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. – Master Magician Chuck Caputo at the Scrubgrass Stage
1 p.m. – Live gospel music by Sound Witness at the Log Cabin
6:30 p.m. – Lantern Night behind the pulling track, take lawn chair.
The Bear Hollow wood carving show and Bar C Ranch petting zoo will be held throughout the day.
Entry tags and numbers can be picked up both days at the fair office.
The fairgrounds close at 11 p.m. both nights.
