The Venango County Fair will be held from Saturday, Aug. 5, to Saturday, Aug. 12, at the fairgrounds, 867 Mercer Road, Franklin.
Admission fee is $6.
Dead Level will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5.
Reoccurring shows and events include various Barnyard Olympics competitions, the Bear Hollow Wood Carving Show, a petting zoo and camel rides, gameland and a magic act.
Events on Sunday, Aug. 6, include a worship service at 10 a.m., a Mega Trucks-A Throttle Kings National qualification event at 11 a.m., mini-horse pulls at 11 a.m., In the Light will perform at 2 p.m., Sean Carey and the Transit Band will perform at 5:30 p.m.
Events on Monday, Aug. 7, includes two bluebird box making programs, a blacksmith exhibit, various livestock shows and more. Garden tractor pulls will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Events on Tuesday, Aug. 8, include a swine show, a vegetable and fruit carving contest and more. Farm tractor pulls will be held at 6 p.m. and tractor and truck pulls will be held at 7 p.m.
Events on Wednesday, Aug. 9, include a horse show, a beef show, a rabbit show, some Erie Zoo programs, a Lego building contest, a cook-off and more. A preteen dance will be held at 7 p.m. followed by the teen dance at 8:30 p.m. Four-by-four truck pulls will be held at 6 p.m.
Events on Thursday, Aug. 10, include an open dairy show, “Ion Jones” from the Carnegie Science Center and more. Back Porch Gold performs at 6 p.m. The 4-H Livestock Auction will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Events on Friday, Aug. 11, include a horse show, a livestock show, various craft-making activities and more. A kids pedal tractor pull will be held at 3:30 p.m. The Franklin Silver Cornet Band will perform at 5:30 p.m. The compact and mid-sized cars demo derby will be held at 7 p.m. Joy Ride will perform at 9 p.m.
Events on Saturday, Aug. 12, include an open and 4-H pet show, a 4-H dog show, a fireman’s water battle and more. HOLeY Jeans will perform at 4:30 p.m. A demo derby for full-size cars, minivans, compact trucks and SUVs will be held at 7 p.m. Fireworks will be held at dusk.
