The Valley Grove School Board approved new pay rates for substitute teachers, setting the daily substitute rate at $140 and the building substitute rate at $150. Longer assignments of 25 to 89 days will pay $200 daily, while assignments of 90 days or more will pay $275.23 daily. Paraprofessional substitutes will earn $12 an hour. Additionally, the board contracted Brinks Security to upgrade their alarm system to cellular lines and approved a Zito Contract for phone services. Riley Hart was hired as a full-time paraprofessional, with five others hired part-time, and Cory McGill was approved as a volunteer volleyball coach. The board also accepted the resignations of several staff members, including Band Director Chris Luxbacher and Special Education Teacher Jess Vogan.
