Update on man with knife attempting to enter passing vehicles in Franklin

On November 9 in Franklin, Kevin Scott Vanwormer, 40, of Emlenton, reportedly attempted to enter passing vehicles armed with a knife. According to police, Vanwormer held one driver at knifepoint and demanded to be driven. He was later seen near the Child Development Center and approached officers’ patrol vehicle, pulling on the door handle and behaving erratically, including talking about aliens. Police frisked him but found no weapons. Vanwormer now faces multiple misdemeanor charges, including terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, and disorderly conduct. Unable to post bail, he remains in Venango County Jail, with a preliminary hearing set for December 4.
