The United Way of Venango County has announced its Summer Career Camps will return.
The camps, a free program conducted in partnership with local businesses and organizations, aim to provide students in grades 6-10 with an inside look at the economic ecosystems in Venango County, a United Way news release said. The camps are designed to educate about local business operations and introduce students to soft skills essential for success in their future careers.
Throughout each weeklong camp, students will be introduced to various career clusters, including agriculture, transportation and tourism/hospitality. Each camp will feature interactive experiences, allowing students to explore a range of career paths within each industry.
During business tours, participants will learn about different roles and responsibilities, gaining insight into positions such as maintenance, accounting and human resources.
Sessions begin at PennWest-Clarion’s Venango Campus, with transportation provided to different business locations for tours and other activities. Registrants may sign up for one or multiple camps.
Registration opens Friday at unitedwayvc.org. Early registration is encouraged due to limited availability.
