The United Way of Venango County’s annual impact campaign is officially underway.

From now until Dec. 15, the United Way will work to raise more than $323,000 to help reach its goal of reducing the number of people struggling to meet health, education and income needs by 3,000 Venango County residents before 2025.

The theme of this year’s campaign is “United We Fight, United We Win.”

uw“This theme is very important to the United Way this year,” campaign co-chair Terri Roberts said. “We’re seeing more and more families struggling to meet their health, education and income needs in Venango County,” Roberts added.

United Way executive director Will Price said there are between 45 and 50 volunteers in Venango County who will work to raise funds for this year’s campaign.

“Everything raised in Venango County stays in Venango County,” Price said. “All the funds have a huge impact on the community and more people need help that United Way and its partners can provide.”

Last year’s campaign raised $323,000, which was an almost 8 percent increase from 2015, Price said.

“United Way is having a huge impact on Venango County by working with our community partners. The work has never been seen on such a large scale before,” Price said.

Over the next several weeks, United Way volunteers and local businesses will take part in the small business blitz series.
