Tri-county reports 2 deaths, 109 cases over past week

The state Department of Health announced the tri-county area reported 109 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional virus-related deaths over the past week.

One death was reported in both Venango and Clarion counties. The new virus-related deaths raise Venango County’s total deaths to 91 and Clarion County’s total deaths to 89.

Among the 35,041 new cases reported from Monday through Sunday, were 56 new cases from Clarion County (38 confirmed and 18 probable), 49 new cases from Venango County (36 confirmed and 13 probable), and four additional confirmed cases from Forest County.

Clarion County, the state said, now has a cumulative total of 2,962 cases (1,902 confirmed and 1,060 probable). The county’s total deaths stand at 89.

Venango County, the state said, now has a cumulative total of 3,657 cases (2,901 confirmed and 756 probable). The county’s total deaths stand at 91.

Forest County, the state said, also reported one fewer probable case, giving the county a cumulative total of 1,400 cases (1,345 confirmed and 55 probable). The county’s total deaths stand at 21.

Elsewhere in the region

Mercer County, the state said, reported three additional virus-related deaths over last week, giving the county 253 total deaths.

The county, the state said, also reported 157 new cases (109 confirmed and 48 probable), giving the county a cumulative total of 8,904 cases (6,978 confirmed and 1,926 probable).

Crawford County, the state said, reported one additional virus-related death over last week, giving the county 146 total deaths.

The county, the state said, also reported 103 new cases (61 confirmed and 42 probable), giving the county a cumulative total of 6,876 cases (5,397 confirmed and 1,479 probable).

Statewide statistics

– The additional statewide positive cases reported over the last week raise the cumulative total of cases to 1,107,377 (935,702 confirmed and 171,675 probable).

– Statewide, there were 283 new deaths reported since last Sunday, raising the total to 25,688.

Care facilities

– A nursing and personal care facilities list, a cumulative table compiled by the state that was last updated Saturday, shows Venango County reported one new resident case and Clarion County reported one additional employee case over the past week.

Venango County, the state said, now has 327 resident cases, 53 employee cases and 33 deaths among 10 unnamed facilities.

Clarion County, the state said, now has 246 resident cases, 109 employee cases and 44 deaths among six unnamed facilities.

Forest County, the state said, holds at 120 resident cases, 26 employee cases and 24 deaths at one unnamed facility.

– Statewide data on nursing and personal care facilities that was also last updated Saturday shows there are now 70,126 resident cases and 14,592 cases among employees for a total of 84,718 cases at 1,585 distinct facilities in all 67 counties.

– The state said as of Saturday there are a total of 13,027 deaths that have been reported from nursing and personal care facilities.

Vaccinations

– According to the state, 7,084,014 inoculations (partial and full) have been administered through Friday. They include 19,891 in Venango County, 20,560 in Clarion County and 5,300 in Forest County.
