The Barrow-Civic Theatre and Belles Lettres Club will proudly present the 2nd Annual B&B Dinner Theatre today to a completely sold out crowd. Held in the Belles Lettres ballroom, the evening begins at 6 p.m. with Belles Lettres providing a pasta buffet and wine bar.
Following dinner, the evening’s entertainment will feature local talent from the Barrow-Civic Theatre. Under the direction of Bret Sloan, Barrow favorites grace the Belle Lettres stage. Performers include Carol Brown, Jeff Brown, Janelle Chambers, Zachary Covington, Nicholas Hess, Jodi Hoover, Bret Sloan, Stephen Teig and Kelsey Viertel. Music Director Mary Beth Hutchinson will accompany the performers on piano, along with Jimmy Smathers on drums.
The performance will feature selections from the upcoming FCOA season at the Barrow, as well as some musical theater favorites. The musical preview begins with the show “Nice Work If You Can Get It” coming to the Barrow stage in April. Featuring Gershwin classics like “S’Wonderful”, “Someone to Watch Over Me”, and “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off”.
The next portion features songs from Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods”, coming to the Barrow in June. This re-telling of classic fairytale stories finds Jack singing about “Giants in the Sky”, Cinderella stuck “On the Steps of the Palace”, and two charming Princes in “Agony”.
During Applefest, FCOA will take audiences under the sea in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”. Everyone’s favorite songs from the movie, like “Kiss the Girl”, “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World”, will first be brought to life on Belles Lettres stage.
This fundraising event is produced by Mary Ann Richardson and Barbara Perry. Due to limited seating, this year’s event is already sold out. There will be no tickets sold at the door. Mark your calendars for next year’s performance, Friday, March 3rd, 2017.
