Titusville school board member logs grievance against RIU6 with ‘no vote’

During a routine Titusville Area School District board meeting, member Kevin O’Neill was the sole dissenting vote on the $1.67 million budget for Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 (RIU6), citing concerns over flat-funding and a past failure to recruit a teacher, which led to an emergency agreement with another service provider. Despite his objections, the budget was approved by the rest of the board. Other unanimous approvals included agreements with the University of Pittsburgh Bradford for concurrent enrollment, Titusville Area Hospital for athletic training services, and IU5 for language instruction—though the latter saw a doubled rate increase. The board also approved student-teacher hosting agreements and district plans for professional development, induction, and comprehensive strategies. The next meeting is set for April 14.
