The Titusville City Council approved the first reading of a bill to hold mortgagees accountable for maintaining foreclosed properties. The proposed ordinance, developed with Hera Property Registry, mandates property managers conduct monthly inspections and charges mortgagees a bi-annual fee of $300 per property. Additionally, the council discussed trash-hauling contract proposals, moved forward on decriminalizing marijuana possession, addressed recent water line breaks, and considered a proposal to allow advertising on a downtown building. Other community events and meetings were also announced.
