The Titusville Area School Board is considering a $500,000 project to replace a 30-year-old, leak-prone section of the high school roof, covering the natatorium and band rooms. This roof is made of EPDM, a synthetic rubber membrane, and the proposed replacement would cover 21,800 square feet. Strongland Roofing Systems has provided a quote of $502,076 for the project, which could be completed before winter. If delayed, temporary repairs will be made to prevent damage. Additionally, during the meeting, the board discussed frustrations with cyber charter school costs, with the district’s business manager emphasizing the need for reform and expressing concern over the high costs imposed on districts compared to lower-cost local alternatives. The board will vote on the roof project next week.
