The Oil Heritage prince and princess competition is open to children ages 1 to 3. Parents, guardians and grandparents can submit a wallet-sized photo to Youth Alternative’s by Wednesday, July 13.
Photos can be mailed or dropped off to Youth Alternatives, 1 Graff St., Oil City.
Entries must include the child’s name, age, birth date, parent’s name or names and address on the back of the photo. They also must include a contact phone number where people can be reached at on Friday, July 22.
Voting is done by a donation of money. The boy and girl who raise the most money will be crowned prince and princess of the Oil Heritage Festival.
Voting will take place at Oil Heritage Festival Headquarters during its open business hours Monday, July 18, through 4 p.m. Friday, July 22.
Winners will be announced and crowned during the concert intermission in Justus Park Friday evening, July 22.
The winning prince and princess will receive a $50 gift certificate of their choice and will be asked to ride in the Oil Heritage Parade at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 23.
The prince and princess runner-up will both receive a Walmart gift card in the amount of $20.
This contest is sponsored by Youth Alternatives and chaired by Yuri Miyazaki.
All proceeds go to the Alternatives for Youth Program.
