Area animal rescues are gearing up for several spring fundraisers.
Painting for PAWS
Clarion P.A.W.S. and Bill’s Barn Cats will host a painting fundraiser from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 81 Stone House Road in Clarion, for an afternoon of fun, food and “fun”raising, and, of course, some painting.
The finished paintings measure 16 by 20 inches. Tickets cost $25 each.

Hoppy Easter event planned
Tri-County Animal Rescue will hold its annual Hoppy Easter Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Clarion Tractor Supply.
There will be an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. for kids ages 10 years old and younger. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos with children and/or furry pets. The cost is $5 for a CD of the pictures.
The rescue will also hold a basket raffle and bake sale for humans and pets. All proceeds benefit the dogs and cats at the rescue.
Tri-County Animal Rescue is a community non-profit organization that exists to support the no-kill rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, rights and welfare of companion animals in Clarion, Forest, Jefferson and surrounding counties.
“We maintain our organization through the generous amounts of time donated by a committed group of volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome,” the center said. “In addition to the lovable companion animals we care for and sponsor, Tri-County also offers the community a discounted spay and neuter clinic and a pet food bank.”
Precious Paws Spring Craft show
Precious Paws Spring Craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Rocky Grove fire hall, 29 Shuffstall St. in Franklin.
There is a $25 fee per table for vendors.
The show will feature several vendors, baked goods, raffle baskets and more. A vaccination clinic will also be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17 during the craft show.
Those who take a bag of dog or cat food, cat litter, a cleaning product or give a donation will receive a ticket for a chance to win a door prize.

Clarion PUPS Easter Extravaganza
Clarion PUPS will hold its Easter fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Winds of Trade Community Center, 11993 Route 66 in Clarion.
PUPS will be at the center with some of their adoptable dogs for people to meet and greet. There will be pictures with the Easter Bunny from 1 to 4 p.m. The event includes vendors, a bake sale, a Chinese auction and more.
The rabies clinic scheduled during the event was canceled.
