Taste of Talent’s kick-off performance will take place Wednesday, June 26, at 7 p.m. in Bandstand Park, during the city’s Fourth of July festivities week.
The final eight participants will compete in the semifinals on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m., and four will advance to the finals Sunday, Aug. 4, at 4 p.m.
The winner will receive $1,000, sponsored by the Franklin-Oil Region Credit Union. And prize monies totaling $200 — $100 cash and $100 in Franklin Retail Association gift certificates — will be awarded to each of the three other finalists.
Taste of Talent has been known to draw audiences of as many as 1,400 people to Franklin’s downtown parks.
Its competitors often go on to be in demand at other performing venues.
