Franklin’s popular Taste of Talent competition kicks off for its ninth year at 7 p.m. tonight in Bandstand Park.
This year’s 12 contestants are Christian Agnew, Ashleigh Bennett, Hagan Cook, Timothy Craver, Kiara Gabler, Scott Kennedy, Joe Lillard, Beth Ann Proudfoot, Connor Rayman, Jordan Rembold, Brianna Schwab and Josie Skibinski.
The winner will receive a $1,000 cash grand prize, and the other three semi-finalists will win a $100 Franklin Retail Association gift card and $100 cash.
Ronnie Beith, Franklin’s events coordinator, said there will also be a few surprises in store for the winners this year.
Competitions after tonight will be held Wednesday, June 27, and Wednesdays July 11, 18 and 25.
The semifinals are Saturday, Aug. 4, and the finals will be Sunday, Aug. 5, after Taste of Franklin.
Beith is asking that chairs not be set up in the park before the Wednesdays of the competitions.
