People flocked to Fountain Park for Taste of Franklin on Sunday.
“I feel like it was a good, family fun day,” said Jess Carroll, administrator of the Franklin Retail & Business Association.
About halfway through the five-hour event, Carroll said the Franklin Retail & Business Association had sold nearly all of the 1,000 wristbands they prepared.
Another change this year was the inclusion of wine, beer, and liquor samples from local stores, which Carroll said was a hit.
While the day was warm, there were plenty of ice cream vendors and mist being blown from Egbert Memorial Fountain to cool down the afternoon attendees.
“Couldn’t have asked for better weather,” Carroll said.
Along with running out of wristbands, Carroll said multiple vendors had reported that they exceeded expectations and were running out of inventory.
“I think it has been more lucrative for them,” she said.
However, Carroll added that many of the vendors did not participate in Taste of Franklin to make a profit.
Jiang added that the restaurant had even reduced its food prices from the last time Taste of Franklin was held from $1.50 to $1.00 per sample.
