Suspicious package found in Franklin proven not a threat

Franklin police responded to a report of a suspicious package near Fountain Park on Saturday morning, prompting precautions despite it later being deemed non-threatening. A concerned citizen reported the package on the sidewalk near West Park and Elk streets, leading police to secure the area. The Erie County Bomb Squad assisted in determining that the package contained no dangerous materials. Traffic was detoured using street barricades, and firefighters and ambulance services were also on scene. The police are continuing to investigate and are seeking any information or video footage from the public regarding the package.
