A team competition has been set up, pitting Franklin and Rocky Grove schools against Oil City and Cranberry schools, to see which team can collect more items.
Food pantries that will benefit from the collection include St. John’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, Community Services of Venango County, St. Elizabeth Center in Oil City and the Cranberry Area Food Pantry.
Each school is working to incorporate the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets, which are building blocks of healthy development to help young people grow up to be healthy, caring and responsible.
The collection competition runs through Friday.
