Storms shake the area

A powerful storm swept through parts of Venango, Clarion, Crawford, and Forest counties on Sunday, bringing down trees, hail, and prompting tornado warnings. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning that lasted from 3 to 11 p.m., with radar indicating possible tornado activity and quarter-sized hail. Tornado warnings were issued for northern Venango and northwestern Forest counties, with sightings of a low-hanging funnel cloud in Oil City. In Titusville, the storm caused power outages and flooding, while firefighters responded to downed trees in several areas across Venango County.
