A two-vehicle crash in Fairview Township on Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of 74-year-old Donald D. Jones of Stoneboro. Police reported that Jones’ vehicle rolled past a stop sign at the intersection of District and Airport roads and was struck by a Ford F450 driven by 21-year-old Caden J. Hinkson of Berlin Center, Ohio. Both vehicles were severely damaged, and Jones was extricated without mechanical assistance but succumbed to his injuries. His passenger, 30-year-old Joshua L. Richardson, was mechanically extricated, injured, and transported to the hospital. Hinkson was unharmed. Emergency responders, including the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department and the Mercer County Coroner, were on the scene.
