Clarion state police are continuing their search for a Shippenville man accused of 865 counts involving rape and associated charges.
Garrick Landon Bloom, 46, is charged with 216 counts each of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated assault of a child and statutory sexual assault. He is also charged with one felony count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Clarion County Children and Youth Services reported to Clarion state police that a boy was being sexually assaulted by Bloom on Oct. 25, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint also says Bloom admitted to sexually assaulting the boy.
Bloom was also a wanted man in 2003 after he had been jailed in connection with incidents that occurred when he was the manager of the Seneca Motors car lot in Paint Township, Clarion County.
Court records say Bloom altered payment records from customers and used the money for his own purposes.
Bloom entered a guilty plea in October 2003 and agreed to pay restitution of $83,332 to Seneca Motors. He was sentenced to seven years in the county’s intermediate punishment program after serving nine months in the Clarion County jail.
Bloom’s incarceration began Oct. 10, 2003, and he was placed in the work release program and failed to meet the requirements of the program. A criminal complaint said Bloom left the Clarion County jail to go to work at McDonald’s in Clarion, and he failed to return to the jail after he was done working.
In 2009, Bloom was charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children.
Bloom is a white male, five feet, five inches tall. He weighs about 300 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information about Bloom’s whereabouts is asked to call Clarion state police at (814) 226-1710.
