A two-vehicle crash on State Route 38 in Butler County claimed the life of 48-year-old Dora Hovis on Monday afternoon. Police reported that Diane T. Schomburger, 34, veered into the northbound lane, prompting Ronald A. Hovis, 67, who was driving with Dora as a passenger, to swerve. However, Schomburger’s vehicle crossed back, colliding with the Hovis’ car. Dora Hovis died at the scene, while Schomburger and Ronald Hovis sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to hospitals. Emergency responders, including local fire departments and the Butler County Coroner, attended the scene.
