The Miss Sligo Christmas Pageant, hosted by Balanced Buddha Gives Back, took place Sunday at the Sligo Area Recreation Center with 28 girls aged 1-13 participating to benefit underprivileged children in the Union School District. Contestants competed for the Charity Queen title by donating new toys, contributing to a total of 904 toys collected, including 53 from local supporters and spa clients. Each contestant received a crown, with queens and princesses crowned in six age divisions, alongside awards for talent and People’s Choice. The event also raised $1,174 through fees and donations to support a Trap-Neuter-Return program for local cats. The next pageant, Miss Sligo Valentine 2025, will be held on February 9 to benefit the Clarion Kindness Project.
