This year’s Rocky Grove/Franklin High School musical, “Shrek, The Musical,” is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 8 – 10 at the Rocky Grove High School Auditorium.
“Shrek, The Musical,” based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, is the tale of an unlikely hero, Shrek (Benjamin Hoover), who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey (Gavin Empson) and feisty Princess Fiona (Shannon Birsa), who resists her rescue.
The musical is the sixth annual show produced in conjunction with Franklin High School. Tickets are available at the door and cost $6 for students and $8 for adults.
Also included in the cast are Carly Kelly-Baker, Kaylene Dunkle, Brianna Barnett, Keegan Hoover, Garrett Ostergard, Nicole Laverdure, William Ion, Forrest Hensley, Hannah Young, Danielle Laverdure, Tyler Walkowski, Andrea Smith, Ashleigh Morrison, Serina Croyle, Harley Flinspach, Julie Halligan, Cole Ritchey, Cambree Backer, Chloe Cherry, Alyssa Shick, Madison Gordon, Anabell Hawkins, Danielle Laverdure, MacKenna Ross, Sophia Santee, Genevieve Hoover, Jackie Wheeler, Baylee Cutchall, Josie Fish, Tatum Carbaugh, Madison Carson, Zoey Empson, Diana Hickey, Duncan Hickey, Jessica Jarzenske and Stormi Taylor.
The production is led by Jodi Hoover as music director/choreographer; Kolby Martin as stage director; Peter Greene as assistant stage director/lighting designer; and Hannah Young as choreographer. Sarah Gilbert is the rehearsal accompanist. Bridget Kennedy is in charge of costuming. Eric Campbell is the stage crew adviser and the orchestra will be conducted by Chris Luxbacher.
