Sheetz will open a new store on Route 8 in Barkeyville, Venango County, on Thursday, with a grand opening celebration starting at 9 a.m. The store, which will employ around 30 people, will officially open to the public at 8 a.m. The company will mark the occasion with donations of $2,500 each to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. Customers are encouraged to contribute by donating nonperishable food items. The new store, built on the former site of a Kings Family Restaurant, hotel, and auto shop, was approved by the Venango County Regional Planning Commission in September 2023.
