Rocky Grove High Gives Back to the community

Each year, juniors and sophomores at Rocky Grove High School participate in the “Rocky Grove Gives Back” community day, which allows them to fulfill community service hours required for graduation while learning about and helping meet the needs of their community. The students can choose various activities, such as assisting at Valley Grove Elementary School, sprucing up a cemetery, or helping prepare for local events like Applefest. Organized by teacher Beth Proper, the program has grown in popularity, with positive feedback from all community partners. Proper enjoys hearing students reflect on their experiences and how much they learned from giving back.
