A Richland Township man has been charged with raping a 14-year-old boy last Sunday in his home.
Boyce Kendal Jones, 52, has been charged with felony counts of rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors and criminal use of a communication facility, and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and indecent exposure.
Court documents say the boy told Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School administrators Monday morning that he had been attacked the previous evening.
School administrators contacted Clarion County Children and Youth Services which in turned contacted state police Trooper William Craddock.
Court documents say the boy told police Jones contacted him via text message and asked the boy to come visit him at his nearby home.
Jones told the boy he (Jones) was alone at his home, the documents said.
The boy told police he arrived at Jones’ home and found Jones on the porch smoking a cigarette and wearing only a pair of shorts. The boy told police he entered the home and went to the bathroom where he received another text from Jones stating he (Jones) would be naked when he (Jones) entered the house.
The boy told police Jones was naked when he (the boy) left the bathroom, and Jones had locked the door to the residence. The boy said Jones prevented him from leaving the residence and removed the boy’s pants before fondling him, the documents said.
The boy said Jones then raped him before he was able to get away from Jones and leave the residence, the documents said.
Police contacted Jones and asked him to report to the police station for an interview, and Jones complied with that request.
Jones initially denied sending any texts to the boy but later admitted he sent the texts asking the boy to come to the residence and the text stating he (Jones) would be naked, the documents said.
Jones also admitted he engaged in sex with the boy and the incident lasted about 10 minutes. Jones said the intercourse was consensual and also acknowledged he knew the boy is 14 years old, the documents said.
Jones was arrested and arraigned by district judge Amy Long Turk.
Jones’ bail was set at $50,000 cash.
