State Rep. Lee James will host a shredder event from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at his district office in Seneca.
“Identity theft can be costly and time consuming for victims,” said James. “Properly destroying documents with sensitive information can help protect residents against the threat of identity theft. This is one relatively easy step residents can take to protect their information,” he said.
Residents may take documents with sensitive information including their names, birth dates, Social Security numbers or financial account information to be securely shredded.
Each participant will be limited to shredding four boxes of paper. Residents should not take newspapers or cardboard to be shredded.
James’ district office is located at 3220 Route 257, Suite 8, in Seneca.
