The registration numbers are down slightly this year, according to executive director Will Price.
In order to boost those numbers the United Way is offering a special registration deal, he added.
Participants who sign up by today will receive a special code for a free race entry for a friend.
In addition to this free entry, all registrants are permitted to enter up to two children per racer, Price said.
Race-day registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the race beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday.
