Redbank Valley School District will hold a special meeting Friday to discuss the fate of several academic programs and the high school baseball and softball teams.
Talk of cutting programs and sports teams came up at Monday night’s school board meeting, but final decisions haven’t been made.
Superintendent Mike Drzewiecki said the academic programs were selected because of low participation rates.
“Some of these programs have had less than eight students per year,” said Drzewiecki.
A full list of programs on the chopping block hasn’t been disclosed, but Drzewiecki said woodshop, computer-aided drafting and accounting are on the list.
The proposal to cut the sports teams came from a cost-saving committee, according to Drzewiecki.
Friday’s meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
