RC Addict gets new storefront

Adam Bavuso, center, and Ryan Cornmesser, right, who own RC Addict along with Ryan’s wife, Shelli Cornmesser (not pictured), set up inventory in the business’ new storefront location north of Franklin on Thursday as they prepare to invite customers in for the first time this morning.

RC Addict, a Franklin-based hobby business specializing in radio-controlled (RC) vehicles, is celebrating its first storefront opening this weekend after nearly 15 years of operating from home. Owned by Ryan and Shelli Cornmesser and Adam Bavuso, the store at 2649 Route 417 will host an open house through Sunday, with a ribbon-cutting and refreshments today and Saturday. The shop sells a variety of RC vehicles like crawlers, boats, planes, and bashers, as well as in-house branded parts, encouraging DIY repairs to enhance the hobby experience. Though there’s interest in adding a racetrack in the future, the owners aren’t planning it anytime soon. The business originated from the owners’ rekindled interest in RC hobbies years ago and now also hosts monthly winter RC rock-crawling competitions on their home property for the local Keystone RC Club.
