Public meeting to address Liberty, 12th Street

From staff reports

A public meeting to review options developed through the Liberty and 12th streets intersection improvements study in Franklin has been scheduled.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 1102 Liberty St.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says the purpose of the meeting is to share safety and geometric improvement options for the intersection and gather feedback from attendees on which options best meet safety needs.

Study information and improvement options will be available for review and comment at the open house. PennDOT representatives, along with design consultants, will answer questions and explain the various options.

The information also will be available online at http://www.penndot.gov/district1 by clicking on the “Public Meetings” link under the “Resources” heading, and then choosing the “Venango County – Liberty and 12th Intersection Study” tile.

The plan’s display also is an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon cultural resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations, implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

Anyone with special needs or concerns should contact Lyndsie M. DeVito, PennDOT project manager, no later than Thursday, Jan. 2, at ldevito@pa.gov or at (814) 678-7174.
