Public meeting set on Tionesta Lake master plan revision

From staff reports

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is hosting a public meeting and public comment period to kick off the Tionesta Lake master plan revision from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the Tionesta fire hall on Bridge Street.

The Corps is seeking public input about environmental and recreational topics for consideration during the master plan revision process.

The meeting will consist of a 30-minute presentation and a 90-minute opportunity for attendees to speak with staff at environmental stewardship, recreation and public safety stations.

Participants will be able to submit comments during the public meeting, then a 30-day public comment period will open Monday, July 10, and close Aug. 9.

Comments can be submitted via email to Ben.A.Caparelli@usace.army.mil, via drop box at the Tionesta Lake office, or by mail to 477 Spillway Road, Tionesta, 16535.

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations require a periodic review of the master plans to ensure they meet current public and environmental needs.

The master plan guides how the Corps uses government-owned and leased lands around Tionesta Lake.

Community input will affect the management and usage of Tionesta Lake for the next 25 years.
