Police: Oil City woman barricades man inside house

An Oil City woman faces charges of unlawful restraint and reckless endangerment after an incident on Wednesday in which she allegedly barricaded a man inside his house.

According to charging documents, Sabrina Lynn Buzard, 45, spoke with Oil City police outside the residence, telling them that she used things on the porch — including a mattress, box spring and head board, among others — to barricade the exits of the house. She told police she barricaded the door because the man living there would not let her get her property.

The man called police to the house, according to the affidavit, saying he’d been barricaded inside by his girlfriend. He told police after they spoke with Buzard, the affidavit states, that the back door to the residence had been “wired shut due to a prior incident where Buzard broke” it.

The door was also, according to the affidavit, barricaded with “a chair and other items.”

Buzard was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Andrew Fish. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Sept. 15.
