NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — An 18-year-old Pennsylvania tried in juvenile court for raping a 15-year-old girl in 2014 has been jailed on charges he raped to teen girls at knifepoint as they walked home from a convenience store.
Eighteen-year-old Gary Brewton, of New Castle, remained jailed Friday on two counts of rape and 32 other charges in the Dec. 17 attacks.
Police say Brewton raped the other girl in 2014 near the same convenience store from which the alleged victims were walking home shortly after midnight on Dec. 17.
The girls told police someone wearing a stocking cap and a dust mask held a machete-like knife and forced them to the ground, demanding their money and then raping both.
Police say DNA from the 2014 rape matched that from a discarded condom at December’s scene.
Brewton doesn’t have an attorney.
