Franklin state police were still searching Tuesday evening for an Allegheny County man wanted on several charges out of New Kensington.

Police said the man, identified as Jeremy E. Chambers, 36, of Tarentum, had been seen earlier Tuesday on three occasions in southern Venango County.

Chambers was last seen wearing tan shorts and a dark blue, cut-off T-shirt, according to Michelle McGee, the community service officer for Franklin state police.

He is wanted in New Kensington for aggravated assault, attempted kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle, McGee said.

Police received a tip Tuesday morning that Chambers was at a residence on Old Route 8 near Route 308 in Victory Township. When troopers arrived, Chambers was observed fleeing on a red four-wheeler, police said.

While searching for Chambers, police determined the four-wheeler had been stolen from a woman in the New Kensington area.

Chambers was seen later in the afternoon on a stolen black and yellow Suzuki dirt bike in both the Clintonville and Bullion/Pearl areas, McGee said.

Police were continuing their search efforts in those areas Tuesday evening, and they urged residents to keep their homes and vehicles locked.

Anyone with information about Chambers’ whereabouts is asked to call Franklin state police at (814) 676-6596.
