Police continue investigation into Rockland homicide

Franklin state police are continuing their investigation of a homicide that occurred earlier this month in Rockland Township.

Peter Bernardo Spencer, 29, of Allegheny County, was found dead due to gunshot wounds in the front yard of a residence at 279 Carl Road at about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 12, police said in a news release.

A suspect, a 25-year-old man, was taken into custody at the time, police said.

“Nobody has been charged yet,” trooper Adam Haun said Tuesday. “There was tons of physical evidence at this scene that is being processed in our laboratories,” Haun added.

Multiple firearms were found at the scene, police said at the time.

Haun said an autopsy was performed, but troopers don’t have the results yet.

Haun said that once all the evidence has been processed and district attorney Shawn White examines the evidence, a determination will be made about how to proceed.

He said the whole process could take months.
